The switch allows the hose to be used to turn the central vacuum unit on, rather than when you plug it to the wall. The hose is crushproof and has a long life compared to other brands. This hose is ideal for homes with bare floors, or for homes which have an air driven Turbo Brush Attachment rather then an electric hose, and electric beater brush.
