Valve is designed to fit into elbows and couplings that have a 2-inch inner diameter. The opening for the hose to go into has a 1-1/2-inch inner diameter, and the widest diagonal section has a 2.5-inch outer diameter. To allow the on/off switch on the end of the vacuum hose to function properly, low voltage wire should be run from the valve to the low voltage leads on any central vacuum. This is an excellent part to extend your whole house vacuum system in places like Garage, utility rooms, bathroom, workshops, etc.
